Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 May 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how an9tv.com ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website and services. By using an9tv.com, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Account registration details (email address, username, password)
- Payment and billing information processed through third-party payment providers
- Communications you send to us (support requests, feedback)
- Survey responses and demographic information you voluntarily provide
Information Collected Automatically
When you access or use our services, we automatically collect certain information, including:
- Log Files: Browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamps, and clickstream data
- Cookies: Small data files stored on your device to track user preferences and activity. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or indicate when a cookie is being sent
- Device Information: Device type, unique device identifiers, IP address, and mobile network information
- Usage Data: Pages viewed, content accessed, features used, and interaction patterns
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Process transactions and manage your subscription
- Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and unauthorized access
- Comply with legal obligations
2.2 Content Security Watermarking
For subscribers accessing premium video content, we display an account-linked identifier overlay ("watermark") during playback. This overlay is derived from a truncated version of your account ID and the first eight characters of your registered email address (for example, an account registered as [email protected] would display as yourname). The full email address is never displayed.
The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in protecting our licensed content from unauthorized distribution and in enabling attribution in the event of copyright infringement (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We have assessed that this interest is not overridden by your privacy interests, because:
- The identifier is derived solely from information you have already provided and which is visible to you in your account settings;
- The overlay is visible only to you during your active session and is not stored, transmitted, or logged by our systems;
- The truncated form (8 characters of email prefix) reduces but does not eliminate the possibility of identification by persons who already know your email address; and
- You are informed of this measure in our Terms of Service prior to accessing premium content.
Important disclosure regarding third-party exposure: If you record your screen or otherwise capture video content that includes the watermark overlay, and subsequently share that recording, the identifier contained in the overlay will be visible to recipients. an9tv.com is not responsible for any privacy consequences arising from your voluntary sharing of such recordings. The responsibility for protecting your account identifier in any recordings you create rests with you.
The watermark overlay is generated entirely client-side from account data already present in your active session; no additional personal data is transmitted to our servers as a result of the watermark display. The display of this overlay does not result in any new entry in your personal data record and is not retained or logged beyond your active session.
2.1 Marketing Communications
Where you have given your explicit consent during registration or in your account Privacy Settings, we may send you emails about new content releases, promotions, and updates. The legal basis for this processing is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). We store your consent status and the timestamp of your most recent consent decision; we do not retain a history of prior consent changes. You may withdraw your consent at any time by toggling off "Marketing Emails" in your account Privacy Settings — withdrawal is effective immediately and does not affect the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal.
3. Disclosure of Your Information
We may disclose your personal information in the following circumstances:
- Legal Requirements: When required to do so by law, or at the request of governmental authorities conducting an investigation
- Service Providers: To third-party vendors and service providers who perform services on our behalf (e.g., payment processing, data analysis, email delivery)
- Protection of Rights: When we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request
- Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our website and hold certain information. Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier.
You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our service.
5. External Links
Our website may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy policy, or practices of any third-party sites or services. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.
6. Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmitting information over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
